Jyotirmoy Public School opens its Park Circus branch at Gobra

Kolkata, 9th May, 2025:  Jyotirmoy Public School’s (JPS) first campus in the city was today inaugurated at a sprawling venue at Gobra in Park Circus, bringing school Founder and President Dr. Partha Sarathi Ganguli one step closer to his goals of reaching quality affordable English-medium education to every stratum of society.

Since its inception in 2004, the CBSE-affiiated JPS has seen burgeoning growth and expansion of its activities, 

with Jyotirmoy Public School, Park Circus, being the institution’s 7th branch in South 24 Parganas, Greater Kolkata and Kolkata. Some other top JPS branches are located in Minakhan, Canning and in the Targhera Tea Estate at Oodlabari in Dooars. An educationist of wide acclaim, Dr. Ganguli’s primary mission is to make ‘Quality Education Opportunities for All’ a reaity.

The new branch will offer English-medium education in the current academic year from pre-nursery to Class Eight, with plans to introduce higher classes from the next year.

Speaking at the inaugural event, Chief Guest Rev. Dr. Dominic Savio, S.J., Principal of St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, said, “I hope the students of JPS evolve as good ambassadors of humanity, as has been the case with the school since its inception. I also wish Dr. Ganguli well in his tireless mission to put in place an equitable system of education.”

Echoing similar sentiments, Dr. Ganguli said, “Reaching good English-medium education to the disadvantaged through easy and affordable access has been my singular goal since the first JPS branch came up at Sonarpur South.  The school at Gobra, I hope, manifests a hope that we all have for building a better society by empowering the disadvantaged through education.”
